What are perks and other benefits like at Pressler & Pressler?

Pros

Job was ok. Paid training. You learn about debt collection and related fields of bankruptcy and some real estate law. They offer benefits to full time employees. Clean bathrooms and break room. Paid 20 min lunch.

Cons

Benefits are costly with the amount taken out of your paycheck. They claim to offer flexible scheduling but that is not true anymore. Bonuses are a joke and they will use any excuse to deprive you of one by issuing a write up. The place got better in some ways after Mr. Pressler died as the remaining partners were more generous in giving raises but they laid off many talented people simply because they made too much. You're just a number to them, you can be a great employee but if they feel you cost too much in payroll you will be laid off. Selective enforcement of office rules and policy based on who you are. Management is a mixed bag. Some are great genuine people and others are robots that only care about numbers. Overall they are ok but are constrained by the costs of running the firm so can't blame them for some of their decisions when it boils down to money most of the time. They are looking to outsource as much as they can to a company based outside the U.S. so expect many positions and departments to dwindle over time.

Advice to Management

Hire better people. The quality of the new hires went down considerably when they started to hire mostly people from the inner city and urban environments.

They offer benefits to full time employees.
