What is health insurance like at Prime?

Pros

Great company to start off with! You can grow here at prime. Insurance is pretty high the first year.

Cons

Home time as a truck driver is hard at times and you get paid by the mile only and there's allot of free labor as a truck driver.

Advice to Management

Add percentage pay for loads under 300 miles for company drivers and supply straps instead of having flatbed drivers pay for them.

Learned to operate a semi truck with reefer unit. With a great trainer Paid for school and saw the country I can’t complain.

Does Prime offer unlimited time off?

Pros

You can earn decent money. You can control your own schedule and home time. You can choose which loads you want to take.

Cons

These aren’t necessary cons, they are just things you should know. You pay for the weekly truck rental. You pay for fuel. You pay for your insurance. You pay for truck maintence. You pay for taxes quarterly. When you have required classes to take at the terminal, they withhold a truck payment which is good; however, it can take a year to pay off. They withhold the first truck payment which also can takes a year to pay off. The way to make revenue is to be out 6 weeks or more at a time or to being a trainer or team driver. It may not be worth it with the expenses that you occur. Do your research before going lease. Going complany may be a better option.
