Pros
Qkids is an amazing company. It is wonderful being able to work from home and have flexibility with the scheduling. The staff and coaches are great at communicating. Amazing technical support for when there may be technical difficulties. The students are just the sweetest as well. The class management is not too overwhelming making it easy to tend to each students' individual needs.
Cons
It is a contractor position, so there are no benefits as an individual is contracted to work with Qkids. It's not necessarily a con for me but may be for others.

Pros
Qkids is a wonderful company to work for, so it's no wonder that they are growing so fast. Here are some of my PROS: - Pays well - Performance bonuses - Regular feedback from your assigned mentor - No penalty for class cancellations before 5 hours of start time (This is so helpful for emergencies.) - Free professional development - Amazing platform and curriculum...I'd say one of the top online companies for sure. - They listen to feedback from the teachers. There is mutual respect between teachers and mentors, which can be hard to come by these days. - The experience of working with families of a different culture...I've learned a lot myself and about myself by teaching with Qkids! :) - And of course....the students are the best part and they are fabulous!
Cons
- Hours can be inconsistent at times. - Do not rely on this as your only source of income or you'll end up getting frustrated during their slow seasons. - There may be times when parents get upset if they think you're moving too quickly through the lesson (Perhaps, they placed their child in a level that is too advanced) . However, each lesson is only 30 minutes so if you go over you may miss your next class which is considered a 'no-show'---you don't want that. Just be patient, positive, and be sure to note it on the student's evaluation. - Occasionally you may see dads walking around in the background in their boxers! So be prepared. - Occasionally parents will yell at their student. It can be hard to listen to or watch. But just keep in mind that there are cultural differences. It might help to learn about some of the differences before beginning.
Advice to Management
It would be helpful if invites are sent within 5 hours of the class start time if possible. Many times I am in need of more classes, but don't get the invites until I'm already in bed for the night. I realize that's not always possible though. Keep on doing the right thing and you'll continue to retain the best online tutors/teachers available. Qkids is superior to other online ESL companies and I know we teachers appreciate the respect we're given. You seem to recognize that the class teacher is the "face of Qkids" and regularly provide positive and constructive feedback, as well as excellent professional development opportunities. I'm on my 3rd contract and I'll have to say that working for Qkids has given me a huge interest in visiting China and possibly even teaching there one day. Thank you all for all you do for the students...and teachers! :)
