How are career development opportunities at RedPeg Marketing?

Pros

I have been at RedPeg for over a year now, and I couldn't be happier. Starting a year out of school in a job, one would expect to be given only grunt work, but that couldn't be more far off of what my experience has been like at this company. I've been able to work on really big accounts, and given ownership to take on tasks and responsibilities solo. My opinions, creativity, and work really is taken as an equal part of the greater team. My manager is amazing, and she really cares about my growth and development. Being in agency life, there's definitely a certain level of having to forge your own path, but the leadership at this organization helps guide you (if you take initiative). GREAT social events, happy hours, and outings to contribute to the "work hard, play hard" culture. "Women of RedPeg" has also helped in making social events have more purpose - in addition to being a great time! Dogs are often running around the office. Ability to start your own culture initiatives, and growth opportunities outside of your specific "role". There’s great travel opportunities, if you want it!

Cons

Certain level of gossipy-ness, but no more than a normal office environment. It is easy to stay out of the gossip, and it never interferes with work.

Advice to Management

Keep mentoring and fostering growth for employees that take initiative. Continue to hire women in leadership positions (we're making great improvements on this front!)

How is management perceived at RedPeg Marketing?

Pros

This company loves its employees! Every month there are multiple celibrations, happy hours (both in and out of the office) and occasional outings. Its kinda like working at a club med. Management keeps an open door policy and they stand by it. They also do their best to be transparent on where the company is with business and projections. That said don't let their fun and laid back approach fool you, they crank out some serious work and set high expectations of professionalism and work product. They give fair and adequate compensation to their employees and are constantly giving out small gifts/rewards/incentives.

Cons

There is a lot of talk about work life balance but they have not yet achieved this balance. The industry requires long hours and the office does too. Many times people are simply expected to give up entire weekends to meet project deadlines or work late into the evening multiple times a week.

Advice to Management

There should be better balance of promoting from within and bringing in outside talent. lengthen buildout timelines to avoid last minute crunches.

Management keeps an open door policy and they stand by it.
