Does Reynolds Consumer Products offer dental insurance?

Pros

The pay and benefits are second to none. Very hard to find better. The insurance is not free but very inexpensive and the coverage is very good. They also give you a company funded medical debit card to cover your deductible and co-pays. Reynolds is a very generous company. Because of the union environment, you are protected from being easily fired and you cannot be forced to work your off-days ever. They have a strong safety emphasis and you are allowed to refuse to do work that you feel is too dangerous and needs correcting.

Cons

The work environment can very dangerous and grueling. You have to wear a ton of p.p.e. to keep from getting cut by the aluminum. You can be forced to come to work 4 hours early or over 4 hours late. So don't plan anything for your work days. Not a good job for a single parent with young kids. They are a 24/7 facility in Louisville, KY. Except for a handful of M-F jobs, all jobs work the weekends. You get 13 weekends off a year. The rest of your off-days are during the week. Also, management is cowardly and won't confront bad/lazy employees. The company gets by on the good will of the mediocre and hard working employees. There are a large amount of shockingly lazy employees . Some might work 4-5 hours (if you can even call it work) out of an 8 hour shift. They frequently disappear and go sleep in their cars or play on their phones or hang out in the break room. When said employees aren't doing their work, management comes to the hard worker and just makes he/she do extra, effectively allowing the others to continue their irresponsible behavior. It makes it very difficult to not be resentful.

Advice to Management

Since we all make the same pay, we should all be held to the same standard. We should all be expected to work hard and do our part. Stop trying to be buddies and lead the team. Demand respect. Check on employees and stop sitting in your office acting like you are busy. The action is out on the production floor. That's where the supervisor should be as well.

The insurance is not free but very inexpensive and the coverage is very good.
