Pros
- Great benefits (medical, holidays, flexibility in taking time off, etc)
- Good work/life balance
- Good compensation
Cons
- Since company went public slowly becoming more and more bureaucratic and management focused
- Top down management, Very little time to work on things you and your team feel are important. You are basically told what to do, pretty much at all levels from junior to very senior.
- There seems to be a culture around senior management doing whatever it takes to please the CEO and there seems to be a fear around interacting with the CEO & VPs. (Lots of office hours, demos, and basically time spent on throw away work to demonstrate things to the CEO and VPs)
- The process of doing something (adding a feature or optimizing something) takes incredibly long and there are many process steps, like unbelievably long. The pacing of development is slowing down more and more as the company gets older.
