What is paid time off like at Sainsbury’s?

Pros

Great pay, hours are great while studying, paid holidays and nice colleagues

Cons

Managers act like they are in a clique, they are rude, do not say hello or thank you and do very little work. Spend most of the time chatting, walking everywhere in pairs or on their phones. They do not listen to staff feedback. Sainsbury’s only cares about themselves and image, not about staff or customers

Advice to Management

Replace managers and take feedback from staff on board

Does Sainsbury’s offer massages?

Pros

Colleagues are nice , free tea and coffee and they provide milk. Lockers too . Yes those are the office perks. You occasionally get to work from home a few days a week. They have lots of store roles everywhere almost always somewhere in the UK, and delivery drivers.

Cons

The random shift patterns that come with being in the support centre - 8-4 , 10 - 6 and then 9-5. Don't do it if you don't go to sleep easily. The company will hit the Titanic iceberg at some point and not have enough life boats.

Advice to Management

Good luck "saving to invest" ... Not sure what part is saving and which part is investment?Every little helps or my favourite :Spend a little, live a lot like brands. Only cheaper. Some much cheaper.

Does Sainsbury’s offer dental insurance?

Pros

Great people to work with but not the management, they do not care about you Great name to have on the CV

Cons

To progress it’s very much about who you know, how loud and a good talker you are. It doesn’t matter how good you are, if you don’t play the game then your carer goes nowhere regardless of how skilled or experienced you are. Long hours are expected off you No real accounting systems NO training at all, you just have to figure everything out yourself Lack of basic benefits and perks such as medical, dental etc until you reach management level Pay is and has been and will always be below market rate MIGHT get a bonus, this gets dangled like a carrot forever If you leave even if it’s the the month the bonus is paid then you do not get your bonus baring in mind the bonus relates to the previous financial year and is paid 3 months after the FY yet you can’t get it. Looks diverse from the outside but is not actually diverse ALWAYS going through restructuring almost every 6 months, not get for job stability nor one’s mental health

Advice to Management

Invest in a real accounting system Invest in training people

Lack of basic benefits and perks such as medical, dental etc until you reach management level
