What are perks and other benefits like at Sky Betting & Gaming?

Pros

Great perks, flexible working, good people and decent facilities. First environment I've worked in where praise/ recognition is actively given and encouraged!

Cons

Sometimes the fresh fruit deliveries we get every day have those peaches that have the fuzzy skin on them. I absolutely hate them. Bring back the plums!

Does Sky Betting & Gaming pay for a gym membership?

Pros

One of the best things about working at SBG is the culture; it is very laid back with casual dress, flexible working hours and we are very social. The flexible working hours mean my work/life balance is better than it has ever been by far as it allows me to avoid a longer commute at rush hour. I love how social the business is too - we have regular social events as a team and also have bigger company-wide events like the races, charity ball and the gathering. SBG also has a great benefits package which includes a free gym membership at a gym across the road. This means I can exercise on my lunch break and therefore have more time to relax at home in the evening. Finally, SBG have really good opportunities for growth and personal development. Hard work is recognised and rewarded and there are loads of opportunities to learn new things.

Cons

There really aren't many downsides to working at SBG, although sometimes it feels like tech employees get preferential treatment over non-techies! For example the extra benefits they are entitled to.

Advice to Management

Don't change much! Be aware of preserving our culture as we continue to grow and ensure everyone is treated fairly.

Does Sky Betting & Gaming have a pension plan?

Pros

SBG look after their staff really well. Free Sky TV (including Sky Box Office!), 2 bonuses a year - yes 2! A generous pension scheme, and freebies throughout the year make SBG a fun place to work. The leadership team are approachable and have been exemplary in the way they have handled the Covid-19 lockdown. No company is perfect but SBG is always trying to be the best company it can be! Always listening and adapting there are few companies out there that will treat you better. They say the grass is always greener on the other side, but the grass is very green on this side of the fence at Sky Betting and Gaming!! 5 Stars!

Cons

The Tribe system isn’t as clear as it should be and needs an overhaul. Some of the culture has been lost since becoming part of Stars Group (This may rectify itself now we are part of Flutter).

Advice to Management

Allow more experienced people to gain promotion within their current role, instead of having to apply for new jobs or look at other companies. We want to work at SBG!! Pay reviews are not being done quarterly even though it's Company Policy. Some Managers need calling out on this.

How are senior leaders perceived at Sky Betting & Gaming?

Pros

The focus placed on people is noticeable as soon as you walk in the building. There's lots of opportunities to progress, countless courses to learn something new. Flexible working available and encouraged, the office environment is relaxed and friendly - and the work is fast paced and exciting. I'm paid well, there's a fantastic benefits package, free fruit every morning, an approachable leadership team, 2x free books when you start, loads of work-perks (free lunches etc) - and an annual all-colleague festival! It's the culture thats the main thing though. The values (SBG Way) really accurately describe what it's like to work here.

Cons

Greater diversity in the leadership team. However, this is something they've acknowledged they're working on.

Advice to Management

Keep being transparent. The business has communicated clearly to people it's focus on safer gambling - acknowledging that whilst it may harm income, its the right thing to do. Instils a greater sense of pride in what you do.
