What are perks and other benefits like at SonarSource?

Pros

There are few companies where you can say that your colleagues feel like family. Not only does Sonar care deeply for it's products, it cares deeply for the human factor that goes into creating them. They work hard to not just hire the best, but hire those that can work harmoniously together and actively work to build each other up. Additional pros: - Strong leadership that works hard to ensure each individual's success - Great benefits, compensation, and generous PTO - No office drama llama - Solid products that sell themselves - Great WFH policies - The ability and encouragement to go to the HQ in Geneva - Every person is helpful - True friends, not just colleagues - Catered lunches! - Gosh this list is getting long...

Cons

Very very very few cons at Sonar. Minor cons: -More transparency from leadership on coming changes

Great benefits, compensation, and generous PTO

Does SonarSource offer unlimited time off?

Pros

-Great Work Life -People and Culture -Leadership and Middle Management are Grade A -Team atmosphere -Loved Product -Great Time off -Competitive Compensation -Annual Trip to Switzerland (HQ) If something is not working, SonarSource is quick to change! This was a great professional experience that I would recommend anyone to consider.

Cons

-Flat Organization with slower upward mobility (Although not a con for some). If you are a ladder climber this may not be the right fit -No Stock Options Other than these two points, which may not be cons for all, I have no complaints

How are senior leaders perceived at SonarSource?

Pros

* Great work/life balance and job security * When compared with most companies out there, you can have a voice here regardless of your position or seniority. * Great product driven by a winning strategy, generating impressive growth * Fair remuneration * Safe environment * People is truly open to constructive criticism and naturally embed it into healthy teamwork

Cons

* The promoted team-based culture with delegative leadership clashes with reality: as the company scales, CEO and Team Leads adopt a more hierarchical approach and keep most strategic decisions solely on their side. * You are still supposed to act autonomously and decisively. Guessing what you are entitled to do and not to do without your team lead's/CEO approval may grant you occasional reprimand. * While everyone has a voice, some count more than others even at the same position level (most often based on years and connections in the company). Guessing this hidden power network can be tiring and frustrating. * Since the culture promotes a company with very few levels of hierarchy and there is an aversion to job titles, there are very limited growth opportunities that you could leverage for your long-term career. The job market likes titles with clear responsibilities, SonarSource doesn't. * Many decisions need to go through CEO * No salary negotiation and no equity for employees

Advice to Management

Acknowledge our growth and scale requires evolving the company's culture and organizational approach. This should allow aligning the culture we say we have with what we are actually doing, uncovering the implicit decision-making networks - and creating individual growth opportunities for all.
