What is paid time off like at The Walsh Group?

Pros

The interview process was quick.

Cons

Virtually the entire company was going to the office during COVID. During the interview process, the hiring team was not upfront about the work hours. On my first day, I was informed that the hours were 7AM - 5PM (strictly enforced). I was reprimanded by management if I was even a few minutes late. The culture consists of time-watchers and micromanagers. No flexibility on PTO and no bereavement policy. No bonuses. The CEO sent an unprofessional email to all managers (which the entire company eventually received) about COVID and the politics behind it, even though everyone was still required to work at the office. Environment was very unprofessional - employees are belittled and back-handed comments are common. The dead mouse under my desk was the last straw.

Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging. Be more professional if you want a professional culture. If you don’t want to lose talent to other industries, stop following the construction, “old school” culture.

No flexibility on PTO and no bereavement policy.

What are perks and other benefits like at The Walsh Group?

Pros

I guess the insurance benefits and the perks from other companies who are trying to get your business. Walsh itself doesn't have much to offer.

Cons

Ego driven work environment. Walsh allows their employees to verbally abuse you and then takes the side of the abuser. I was called every name in the book by one particular employee and got called in to be told to not make him mad so it doesn't happen again.

Advice to Management

Get better management. I've never experienced such bad management in my life. But that's what happens when you hire to fill a demographic and not for skill.

I guess the insurance benefits and the perks from other companies who are trying to get your business.
