How is race or ethnicity talked about at TransAm Trucking?
Pros
Very short training procedure. For those that do not want to wait
Cons
Just about everything else. Majority of the people they hire are all fresh. Like just out of school. The training is about a week long. Which is really short to go solo on the road. It's a good and a bad thing. Good because you don't have to wait. Bad because you're not learning the things that you need to learn. They have a very high accident and rollover report. A good 90% of everybody that joins either quits or gets terminated within 90 days of the higher on. Do not go with the lease program. They will force people into it. They say they have company or lease available. But what they really mean is they only have lease available immediately. If you want company, you're going to have to wait. I sat in a hotel room for almost 4 weeks waiting on a company truck. And it never came. They eventually forced my hand into taking a lease because I couldn't afford to sit there anymore. $25 a day doesn't do jack. Especially if I don't have my own car to do my own things. Have to rely on Uber transportation to get everywhere. Price adds up. And a span of two days, I had spoken to seven different driver managers. That is absolutely ridiculous. And not a single one of them knew what the other one had said previous. Horrible communication skills. And the leasing contract itself is absolutely horrible. They give you the first month with a bunch of miles. And then within the next couple of months, they start taking your miles away and you're always owing money. And if you say anything about it, you get terminated. And they say that you can take the truck with you to other companies. But when you quit or get terminated, ironically the leasing company also terminates you from their contract and usually sends you a bill in the mail within 4 weeks telling you that you owe roughly around $5,000. A little less. Sometimes more. For a prorated truck. And towing fees. Or physical damage that is magically there. And when you call them to try to figure all of this stuff out, nobody answers. Nobody calls you back. No emails you. Nobody explained anything. They can't show you proof of anything. It's just a Trainwreck of complete disarray.
