Does Uni-Select offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Good training offered great benefits package Awesome programs available after your 3 months period like they will cover a 100.00 towards steel toed boots/shoes, you can get a loan every 2 years (up to 2000.00) to purchase a computer and the loaned amount is taken off your pay check. The management team are very hands on, and more then willing to help out where they can. The hours are Monday to Friday ( so no weekends unless inventory time )

Cons

down sides a lot of in job drama. so as long as you just mind yourself and dont get sucked into the drama of the staff.

How are career development opportunities at Uni-Select?

Pros

The company has a lot of opportunities for sideways promotions. The work is easy enough, the job is fairly secure.

Cons

Safety regulations are usually not a top priority, getting orders picked was the top priority. They usually hire many temp workers with promises of full-time work, but I have yet to see a part time worker hired on full time. In the year I was there.

Advice to Management

Slow down, listen, and be aware. Most issues were seen and discussed by employees and supervisors before they became problems. Fullfil your promises to employees, temp or not, or change the promise. If you promise consistent contracts and work. That is usually enough, don't discourage people by misleading them. It leads me to spend most of my time fixing problems caused by disgruntled temp workers. Its not fair to them, and it hinders productivity.

Lots of Silos, lack of cohesion

Advice to Management

More transparency and trying to move more toward a ground up rather than top down decision making process. Insecurity in the workforce plagued opportunities.
