What is health insurance like at University of Alabama at Birmingham?

Pros

Good benefits, good health insurance and good learning courses. The Office of Postdoctoral Education and the International Student Office assist postdocs in all they need.

Cons

It is not easy to get a stable position after finishing the postdoctoral project. Postdocts have only 10 paid days for vacation.

The benefits and perks are good especially the educational benefit.

Cons

There is little opportunity for upward growth in my division. Cronyism is a very serious issue at UAB.
