Great pay and the benefits are wonderful. Plenty of paid time off and generous retirement plans, including a pension. The patients are really kind and a joy to work with. The hospital serves some of the neediest community and commits to health equity.
Much of the system suffers from a severe lack of organization and communication. There is apathy throughout the workforce and it can be contagious. The politics can be a challenge to navigate.
Communication is key! Set expectations for the staff and hold firm to them. Value and support those who are working at the front lines and seek out their input for improvement.
Plenty of paid time off and generous retirement plans, including a pension.

Good place to learn and hone patient treatment skills on your own. Pension is a plus.
Working in the Craniofacial Center is a toxic environment. Poor management. Clinicians with poor skills that refuse to learn.
Weed out the lazy people that do not want nor have to work because management allows it. Stop relying on Face the Future donations to compensate for lack of production from lazy employees.
Pension is a plus.

Decent leadership who are present, helpful, and willing to listen and provide guidance as needed. Plenty of room for growth, especially in a pandemic. Competitive salary and benefits. Honest, diligent work is acknowledged and rewarded.
The cafeteria feels like a rip-off. They used to include chips with a sandwich, but they discontinued that to save money (way before pandemic started). Parking lottery could improve. Salaried folks may have long hours some weeks, depending on the work load.
I really appreciate that my directors review the department's initiatives and goals each year. We have a document that lists all of the department's duties, goals, initiatives, and mission statements; and each item is assigned to someone as their responsibility. If other management is not already doing something like that, I highly recommend it!
Plenty of room for growth, especially in a pandemic.
