What is paid time off like at WW?

Pros

Overall it's a nice place to be; lots of responsibility given to everyone since the organization tends to run on the lean side. Lots of learning opportunity and opportunity to advancement if you end up in a good team with a manager that is invested in your career. Good PTO but medical benefits are lagging behind the industry. The new CEO is a true leader and very inspiring.

Cons

Not many cons other than there may not be a lot of opportunity for advancement and exposure to other teams if you end up in a team with a people manager that is not invested in your growth & career.

Good PTO but medical benefits are lagging behind the industry.

Does WW offer a wellness program?

Pros

Before I start, please know that most of the 5 star reviews here are due to new onboarding documents that prompt new hires to post a review on Glassdoor at the 30/60/90 day marks. So keep that in mind when researching. Pros: The program genuinely helps people and if you get to work with members, it's really rewarding. The science behind the program is proven - you're not selling snake oil. Hours are relatively flexible. Wellness benefit ($) is great.

Cons

The app and the member database have FUNDAMENTAL issues that should have been resolved 5 years ago - instead it's all about applying flashy features (videos on Connect, groups) to distract from tech issues that just keep getting worse. Leadership roles are almost always hired externally. Unless you're your manager's favourite, and they're on good terms with leadership, don't expect to be handed any career development or direction - expect to have to fight for it. Unless your role specifically sells memberships and you can prove your worth, don't expect to have anyone higher up give you the time of day or even know your name. Leadership is very toxic and have pushed out many long time staff members who loved their jobs and performed well. You're always walking on egg shells and being told you're not doing enough. Quantity (of sales) over quality of output and experience every time. International offices are at the mercy of WW US offices, which can be frustrating when they don't respect deadlines or force creative that local markets know won't work outside of the US. International markets also have one person handling the work of 5-12 people on the equivalent US team. Vacation freeze December / January because of new year's resolution season. Expect to work 10 hour days and/or be expected to check your email 24/7 during those months because things never go as planned. Vacation and health benefits are nothing special.

Advice to Management

Your problem is at the top. And I don't even mean WW US (but yes, they are a problem) - I mean even in local markets. You're letting employees who actually know the program and members walk away. Despite what you may think, not everyone knows what WW is and that was painfully obvious with the hasty rebrand (and not quick enough back track). Do better for your members and employees.

Wellness benefit ($) is great.

Does WW offer malpractice insurance?

Pros

Cutting Edge Tech, more than you realize, as I did not expect a wellness company to have, and they have a healthy budget for innovation. The cloud tech team iterates fast and agile, and highly collaborative, with pragmatic approach to things. Things can get very busy during crunch time, but the atmosphere and culture is very supportive, and very friendly. Lots of healthy perks that help you manage work life balance and be more productive (flexibility with hours, wfh, summer Fridays, rooftop, snacks, ping pong, foosball table, always free food around). Plenty of intelligent people to work with. Access to paid training sites like O'reilly and Pluralsights.

Cons

The pay is a bit below the industry average as these days, competition for tech talent has been pushing salaries higher, but I think they make up for that with a healthy dose of pros i've mentioned. Healthcare plans could be better, as they do make you pay a penalty if your spouse has access to insurance.

Advice to Management

I believe management has been moving in the right direction. Keep on innovating and helping improve lives, as that's our value added proposition to our members.

Healthcare plans could be better, as they do make you pay a penalty if your spouse has access to insurance.
