Within various departments, there is a consistently oppressive and toxic environment, including passive aggressive comments, gossip, and mixed messages from those in supervisor roles. Lower level staff are undervalued and blamed for the mistakes of others. Higher administration seem to make their own rules & display favoritism.
Administrative processes and changes are frequently ineffectively communicated. As a result, when staff do not follow procedures as expected, they are the ones at-fault, even though they were not notified of such changes. Oftentimes, upper management disregards staff concerns, even if it affects their ability to perform well and serve students adequately. An accumulation of stress and the lack of support causes many employees to quickly become apathetic & burned out.
