Pros

WideOrbit has been at the forefront of innovation and evaluating clients' needs. They are constantly assessing and providing ways to serve the clients better. WideOrbit has a plethora of great people who work hard and love what they do. WideOrbit invests in a Diversity and inclusion initiative because they understand the value of having a diverse workforce. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee will bring in guest speakers or have open discussions on various topics. The benefits and perks at WideOrbit are phenomenal; they are unlike any other company I have worked for before. WideOrbit offers remote work options and great health benefits. They even offer monthly wellness seminars! WideOrbit also offers competitive compensation, and the recruitment team is fantastic to work with.

Cons

There are many great new products and enhancing of existing products; it makes it a little challenging to keep up with all the new changes. Though it has vastly improved, some teams still work in a silo and it can appear to cause some duplicity of efforts.

Advice to Management

Transparency is key. Senior Management is doing it right by disseminating information. It makes employees more invested in the growth of the company. Please keep up the excellent work with that. Be observant of areas of the company that have more turnover. Some employees may not feel comfortable coming forth about a toxic environment so will choose to leave. Thereby losing great people who love the company, just not the environment. Continue to hire/promote great people and keep in mind that some great people have diverse backgrounds and can provide different perspectives. Keep up the great job of serving the customers! We always hear compliments about the products!

Pros

I love the company culture, friendly and respectful teammates. I always felt that the work I'm doing is appreciated. I have the freedom to create, design and implement world class products an features. Collaborating with people is easy and everybody is eager to help. I love the benefits package, generous holidays and vacation time. Having 4 or 5 weeks of sabbaticals every 4-5 years doesn't spoil the picture either. The company is profitable, the business and the revenue are growing, I think the company is well set for success and it's great to feel like I am contributing to that in very visible and significant ways.

Cons

I'd say the yearly bonus amount is nothing to write home about, compared to other companies I worked for, probably the only weak point in the otherwise great benefits the company provides.

Advice to Management

I believe, management should make sure people get individual attention on career planning, so that nobody feels stuck or uncertain about their path forward and is always motivated to do their best.

Cons

I'm a current employee, I must be careful with what I disclose for fear of retaliation. I will say that I do not have management's support in my career growth plans and there has been a decline in how they treat their employees from when I first started. I would encourage you to look into another company that puts its employees first and that wants to see them excel instead of remain stagnant.

Employee Story
This Months's #meetawideorbiter features Kasey McCormick Lyding: My name is Kasey McCormick Lyding, and I have proudly been with WideOrbit for the last 10 years. I am a Senior Manager of Professional Services, leading the WO Network Implementation team. I am deeply fascinated by the media industry and enjoy interacting with our customers, understanding their initiatives, and charting a course for them to achieve their goals. WideOrbit offers a range of rewarding perks and programs that I truly appreciate. One that stands out to me is our sabbatical program, which I have been fortunate enough to participate in twice, and I'm eagerly awaiting my third sabbatical. This program allows me to recharge and avoid burnout, and I believe it has greatly contributed to my professional success here at WideOrbit. I'm also proud to have been part of two recent Learning and Development initiatives, the Management Development Course and the newly launched Mentorship Program.

Employee Story
This month’s #MeetaWideOrbiter features Elham Saebi: My name is Elham Saebi, and I am a Software Engineer at WideOrbit. I work with the WO Traffic Engineering team where I focus on the enhancement and development of new features for the WO Traffic application. I joined WideOrbit last September as a remote engineer based in Orange County, California. Moving to the US from Canada, this is my first job experience in the US, and I am delighted to be a part of the WideOrbit team. WideOrbit offers various programs to help connect employees both personally and professionally. Some that I have enjoyed the most include Balance and Belonging, Financial Wellness, and a private Facebook group. WideOrbit also encourages employees to volunteer up to 8 hours per year. In December, I had the opportunity to volunteer with two of my fellow Southern California-based WideOrbiters at the Second Harvest Food Bank Farm where we worked in the fields to harvest vegetables with other volunteers. We were able to contribute to helping provide nutritious and fresh food to our local community.
