What are perks and other benefits like at data.ai?

Pros

My experience is App Annie is fun and the company cares for employees. Last month everyone in the company received a care package. The other week we had a late night talk show event to get to know some of the execs. We've also done yoga sessions and trivia events to give us a break from nonstop zoom meetings. I also really like the work from home benefits the company has provided. You can tell App Annie cares. I'm very happy I joined. The people are great, the new products are exciting, I see a lot of social buzz and customers are engaged.

Cons

I hear App Annie's product is the best but also expensive Seems people are wearing multiple hats that can be stressful

Advice to Management

Let's hire more people so we can grow even faster

Does data.ai offer an employee assistance or workplace counselling program?

Pros

Good benefits, a few genuine people, really nothing else.

Cons

I have never experienced such a terrible workplace experience. Your manager will walk all over you, will, not allow you to work at your best, and belittle you. Major micromanagement even after you have proven years of experience to do the job well on your own. You will do all the work and your manager will take the credit. No room for growth. They will tell you that you have room to grow and then take it all away from you within a few months. The truth will come out sooner or later - Fortunately there are other companies will treat you with respect, actually care about you, and want to see you succeed. Beware of insecure "managers" that will put you down to make themselves feel good.

Advice to Management

Maybe you should reevaluate your values and watch how managers treat their employees.

Does data.ai offer unlimited time off?

Pros

The trust, buy-in, understanding, and evolution of my team is second to none! Everyone is a seasoned professional at highest level of their craft. With just a Recruiting team of 7 in 2021, we doubled the size of the company with nearly 400 hires GLOBALLY last year. Everyone I work with, even folks I meet from other departments, are at the top of their game but still manage to be kind and humble. The 3-month International Passport is a HUGE pro! Ask one of recruiters about it!

Cons

The PTO policy is archaic... Hours have to be accrued over time. Managers are fantastic with approving time off, but that doesn't mean you'll always get paid when you go on vacation. This company is not for the faint of heart nor for people who're looking to just "skate" by and collect a check: we're obsessed with excellence - long hours (meetings with Asia, EU, and Americas), high productivity, and accountability. If you're not excited about the work and/or self disciplined, you will BURN OUT.

Advice to Management

The PTO policy needs a major overhaul. To stymie burnout and attrition, people need to take breaks (more than once a year). Especially since working from home adds a lot of self imposed pressure to be overly productive.

Managers are fantastic with approving time off, but that doesn't mean you'll always get paid when you go on vacation.

Does data.ai offer housing assistance?

Pros

- Free food and drinks - Many co-workers are really great - Work-life balance (worse than top tier US tech companies but way better than Chinese local companies)

Cons

- Most mid-level managers are inexperienced and many good people including engineers, product managers and even HR have left, while these inexperienced managers remain. - Many managers like to publicly praise engineers' working overtime, which damages the work-life balanced culture. - Disappointing leadership. There are too many fake reviews written by them on Glassdoors. - The company they purchased(Libring) is a mess. Some of their people are inexperienced and hard to work with but they have very high titles (Staff, Sr Staff, etc).

Advice to Management

Try your best to fix management issues and improve transparency.
