    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at AMETEK Programmable Power (San Diego, CA) in January 2016.

    Interview

First I talked to the HR on the phone very basic, personality and availability questions. Then I was arranged an interview with two Engineering Managers and the Director of Engineering.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked a lot of machines I program on. Being only a student, it was hard to answer since the university I go to is limited to programming onto physical components.   Answer Question

    Contract Administrator Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    Declined Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at AMETEK Programmable Power in November 2015.

    Interview

The process of application leaves a horrific 1st impression since the company has a nasty in-house developed applicant tracking system where every idiotic field is required. They have Starting Salary, End Salary, Bonus....etc.

    Interview Questions

    • I had to delete ALL the entries to force the application to get to submit!!   1 Answer

I was interviewed for a temporary position. I interviewed with two of the five VPs I would assist and HR. Very pleasant interview.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

It was a contract position through a temp agency so no negotiation allowed.

    Assembly Tech Interview

Anonymous Employee in San Diego, CA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AMETEK Programmable Power (San Diego, CA) in August 2012.

    Interview

There was one interview with 4 dept. heads. They were friendly but serious in their concern to see if I truly was a good candidate for the job. Each person had their own personality so they played on that to put me at ease with them. Personally, I was not intimidated but most people probably would have been. They ask good intelligent quality questions. Attention to detail is key to winning the interview. One mistake on one of the tests would eliminate you but you don't know that till you pass that detail part. Very cute but necessary.

    Interview Questions

    • You really have to know your electronics to pass the test. If not, then don't even try to fake it or try to waste their time. Their dept. heads know their jobs and their electronics.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

There was no negotiation. the price was set before I came to the interview.
