The interview process was excessively long and poorly managed for a non-senior role — I completed six separate interviews, including one with the company's upper management, and the same behavioral questions were repeated across multiple calls.
After all that, the company conducted long interviews with my references, which is highly unusual for a non-executive or senior position.
Ultimately, I was informed that the team was “going in a different direction” and the position was closed — suggesting that there was no clear hiring plan from the start. The process lacked internal coordination, clear communication, and basic respect for candidates’ and references’ time. On a possitive note, at least they let you know so no time is wasted any further.
