    Underwriting Graduate Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Bristol, England (UK)
    No Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Allianz Insurance (Bristol, England (UK)).

    Interview

40 minute telephone interview with resourcing adviser. CV check and company knowledge finished with 4 competency questions based on high performance behaviours : customer and market excellence, trust, entrepreneurship and collaborative leadership.

    Interview Questions

    • First given an overview of the scheme I had applied to, introduction to the interviewer and what they do etc.
Talked through aspects of my CV, asking about my previous roles, why I decided to do my university course etc. and what I wanted to do afterwards (a grad scheme obviously?! why else would I be talking to you?).
      Location preferences
Why did I apply for this role in particular over another Allianz scheme?
What do I know about Allianz and its products/services?
What activities do I think this role will involve?
What challenges do I think I will face in this role?
What is the name of the qualification I would be taking (ACII) and can I talk about what it involves?
A time I went above and beyond for a customer
How I got around challenges of working with a team of different personalities
What was a big challenge you set yourself and how did you achieve it?
When have you lead a group of people and provided purpose and direction?

Each answer was probed with further questions on how/why you made that decision and I was always asked how I would make it better next time/what would I change if it were to happen again.

Not going to lie, I completely fell apart in this interview and it went really bad. Which was disappointing as I had spent so much time and energy preparing for it and have some really good experiences. I started off OK when talking about the company but just lost it half way through the competency questions and stumbled so not expecting to get through. Only had my interview today so don't know the outcome yet but not holding my breath. Lasted 40 minutes in total which was quite short compared to the 50 minutes he suggested so that's another reason I think it went bad.   Answer Question

    Business Analysis Manager Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took a week. I interviewed at Allianz Insurance (Guildford, England (UK)) in November 2017.

    Interview

I applied for this role as part of their "Women Returners" programme. I was impressed by how quickly the HR person got in touch by phone (about 4 working days after I applied!), and by how quickly the phone interview with the hiring manager then took place (probably a good 10 days after they would have first received my application).

Admittedly they were probably coached to do this by the Women Returners Professional Network who provide the coaching on the returners programme at Allianz (and other large companies). Well done to everyone concerned!

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Allianz Insurance in November 2014.

    Interview

Nothing out of the ordinary, I did an online application followed by the standard SHL tests, and then I got a telephone interview. The interview was quite long, around 45 minutes, and it involved the following questions:

    Talk me through your CV
Why did you choose this role
Knowledge of the company, products, sectors it services
How does Allianz sell its products
What challenge do you think you would face in this role
What do you expect to do in this role
Five words with which people would describe you at the end of the scheme
A time when you gave exceptional client service
A time when you turned around someone’s opinion
A time when you disappointed yourself
A time when you met with a tight deadline
Location preferences, in my case it was Milton Keynes or Bristol

I enjoyed the conversation even though I it was dragging on a long time, and it is one of the few occasions I thought I did really well. So, it came as a surprise when one day later I got a rejection email.

    Interview

I found the job posting from the company's website. I sent my CV and cover letter and after 4 days I was invited for an interview. The whole process took 2 weeks. The employees of the company that interviewed me were very friendly and did a good job assessing my skills and experience without trying to ask difficult questions in order to confuse me.

Really relaxed interviews. They help ease you at every stage. Telephone interview with lots of competency questions, so examples of past experiences are crucial. Assessment centre had an interview and a presentation on a business case study. Get to have an informal chat with people on the grad scheme, so you can get lots of advice from them.

    Anonymous Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Pavia (Italy)
    No Offer
    Neutral Experience

    Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Allianz Insurance (Pavia (Italy)) in December 2013.

    Interview

I was contacted via my High School for a part-time opportunity and was scheduled an interview a couple days later.

When I arrived, I was received by the Chief of the branch, who started with asking some personal questions about my background (where did I live, what did I want to do in life, how many sibilings did I have and so on).
When we talked about my friends group and my driving license though, he said that I wasn't suited to receive an offer.

Later I discovered that the part time consisted in door-to-door insurance selling around the city (I don't own a driving license) and the first task I would have been assigned would have been to sell insurance to my friends (all college students).
