Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Amazon (Columbia, SC) in June 2012.

Interview

After answering the advertisement, you receive a email from a recruiter. The recruiter sends you a questionnaire and you have to return it. Next there's a phone interview if they like your answers. The phone interview was with a computer representative and a person that ask questions similar to HR. Then you wait to hear back from the phone interview. If you make it this point then you're scheduled for a in person interview. This interview was one hour and a half. It was divided up into three sessions with two of their reps. Questions started at the technical level then they accelerated to how you respond with groups and then why you want to work for Amazon.

Interview Questions

  • Most unexpected question was "What will working for Amazon do for your life?"   Answer Question

Reasons for Declining

The pay was too low and the fulfillment environment was not engaging and challenging. The morale of the people was very low.
