    Product Marketing/Product Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Ann Arbor, MI
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics (Ann Arbor, MI) in August 2016.

    Interview

The phone interview was good but lacked in depth job duties and reporting structure. I think they are experimenting with this position. The recruiter called at the arranged time and ended a couple of minutes early. The recruiter could have been better prepared with company background and job responsibilities. Benifits were not part of the first round, just your pay requirements with no comment on target range for the position.

    Interview Questions

    • Mostly personnel statices and what was your best accomplishments/ failures. Wher do you see your self in 5 years.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics (Shelbyville, KY) in August 2016.

    Interview

Filled out application online and was contacted by an HR recruiter a few weeks later to set up a preliminary phone interview. The phone interview was pretty standard, the recruiter went over the basics of the position and the company itself and asked me about my past experience. Two weeks later I was contacted for an on site interview with the recruiter, lab director, and company manager. This was again very strait forward, covering the basics and going through my experience and education in more detail as well as some situational questions.

I applied in-person. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics (Ann Arbor, MI) in March 2016.

    Interview

It's been a month, but they found me on Linkedin. Talked to HR specialist twice. Just did a inperson interview and was enthused with the position. I have been consistently reaching out to the company to find out the outcome. It is hard to find out information from the company.

    Process Engineer Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8+ weeks. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics.

    Interview

Recruiter contacted me for process engineer position. She forwarded my resume to the HR manager. Initially had a phone interview/screening and she asked if I can come in for an in person interview. She told me that my background allows the flexibility to not come on as a process engineer but a floater/support role for either process engineer or quality process engineer which they are also looking for. I came in two days later for the interview. They had me fill out an application. The position I interviewed for was up in the air. I told them im more of a hands in worker rather than a sitting at the desk all day worker. According to the recruiter, because of this they didnt offer me the quality position.

    Electrical Maintenance Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Shelbyville, KY
    Accepted Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics (Shelbyville, KY) in October 2015.

    Interview

Disingenuous, deceitful, and lengthy.....Panel interview with HR clerk, lead Maintenance guy (sat there in a trance, didn't ask ONE question, probably day-dreaming about his 4WD Truck and Miller High Life), and chief engineer (Poindexter to the MAX).....lots of questions about my experience and education (30+ years), as related to their process and equipment.....no issues whatsoever with any of their technical questions.....asked about their manufacturing process, received a LENGTHY overview from chief engineer.....he seemed somewhat knowledgeable, but very curt, short, and irritated......Red Flag #1......

    Interview Questions

    • Standard Corporate BS psych questions, scripted to the max.....really, the HR woman read them word-for-word off of her script, and it was (almost physically) PAINFULLY obvious that she had ZERO technical expertise, was borderline A.D.D., and struggling with the basic tasks of her job.....Red Flag #2.....   1 Answer

    Product Engineer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Ann Arbor, MI

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics (Ann Arbor, MI).

    Interview

I applied online and got a call about a week later. The first interview was with a recruiter. It was general questions about my past experiences. Nothing too difficult.

After that, it took about 2 weeks before they reached out again to set up an interview with the hiring manager. This is where the whole process went downhill for me. The manager called me to reschedule at the time of my interview because they had a customer come in and had to work through things together, so we pushed it back to later that afternoon (which I was fine with. Things come up- I understand). So, I waited around for our newly rescheduled time. And I waited. And I waited. I got a call at about 7 PM saying that they had stuff come up and wondering if we could reschedule again. In neither of these situations did this person apologize for the inconveniences that this may have caused me (it did, because I had to leave my current work in order to find a place to do the interview. About 3 hours out of my day total). They only asked if we could reschedule again. So we did for the the next day. And they were actually on time for this one. We walked through my resume again (very basic stuff). The whole time this person (who would be my supervisor) seemed very rushed and rude and like they had much better things to do. When it was time for me to ask questions about the position, this person was pushing them along as if they wanted to be done with the interview. The whole experience just felt like it was an inconvenience for this person.

I have not been offered the position or another interview at this point, but will withdrawal my name if approached to move forward in the process. After thinking about it, it's probably not a place that I would like to end up.

    Recruiter Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Ann Arbor, MI
    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics (Ann Arbor, MI) in September 2014.

    Interview

The front desk, assistant and people that I interviewed with were all very pleasant and professional in demeanor.

I had some very difficult questions which were answered thoroughly with additional detail that I found very helpful

The interview process has gone smoothly and swiftly.

NOTE: I selected 'no' that I did not get the interview because they are still interviewing other people...at the time of this review I don't know if I will receive an offer. If an offer is made I will more than likely accept it as this company is in a high-growth/change time which I find very exciting. They are a top player in their field and the people seem very down to earth and friendly.

    Quality Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Milwaukee, WI

    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics (Milwaukee, WI) in August 2014.

    Interview

Applied online and the process took well over 2 months, I called HR back twice, was directed to some corporate HR in a different location. Finally received an interview over the phone and then a second interview in front of a panel of what appeared to be 8 managers. I was offered a tour of the facility, was not impressed with all of the clutter. Asked questions to some of the operators, it was scary. I declined the offer which was insulting anyway.

    Interview Questions

    • The HR questions were so irrelevant, "if someone came into work with a drug problem, how would you handle it?" It was apparent this facility is more interested in disciplinarians and babysitters than actual skills and knowledge.   1 Answer

    Reasons for Declining

After touring the facility I decided that this place would close within a year with all of the department managers.
