    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at American Airlines.

    Interview

It was a phone interview and this is the second time I have interviewed with this company and I will say I probably will never interview with this company again. Both times I have found the interviewer to be very condescending and arrogant. It seemed like the interviewer was trying to show how much more he knew and how much smarter he was. Once is a fluke but twice says something about the culture. Unfortunate since American seems like it could have such potential to be a great company but I was very turned off by the end of the interview.

    Interview Questions

    • Asked what WACC was, difference in capital lease verse operating lease, what the four financial statements were and if a change needed to be made how you would make it. They were very heavy on accounting questions which is strange since this was a finance job. The questions itself weren't hard but the job description and the questions asked in the interview didn't line up as the job seemed to be finance related but the interview was more accounting related so it didn't seem like a good fit.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in June 2011.

    Interview

The overall interview experience was great. I had a panel interview with 5 employees, all of them were part of the team that I was being hired on. Majority of the questions were behavioral and personality related. I had to take a finance case study test, which required analyzing a case, calculations in excel, providing recommendations in word document and the test was 30 mins long.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines in November 2013.

    Interview

I got the interview through campus recruiting. There were three rounds interviews. For the first round interview, most questions were accounting and finance technique questions. Those questions were also related to airline industry. The questions were pretty straight forward, especially for people who have finance background. All questions were fair, as long as you are prepared.
