Policy Sales and Service Representative I Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Atlanta, GA
    Accepted Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Family Insurance (Atlanta, GA) in April 2012.

    Interview

I was referred to the agent of the agency. I had years of other types of insurance sales experience but not property and casualty. Was hired with the expectation I would get my P&C license, which I did in a month and then begin to build a book of business, which takes time and persistent efforts of follow up. Many of the ones I had been working on didn't come through until after the first of the year which I then referred to other agents

    Interview Questions

    • there were not any difficult or unexpected questions just unexpected and unrealistic goals to be met every month. Insurance is very much a relationship business and it takes time to build the trust and get the information needed to give quotes from outside cold calling.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

my hours and days as long as they met the 32 per week requirement. What i found after I accepted was the training was very poor and felt like I was set up to fail by the person who referred me to the position. the longer I was there the more uncomfortable I felt and felt the negative energy from both of them but continued to doing my best to bring in new business
