I applied for a job and was offered an interview.
I was asked to pick first and second preference of offered interview slots and to fill in a (incredibly in depth) 10 page questionnaire.
I responded the same day with my preferred interview slots, stating I would return the questionnaire the next day, which I did. I did not receive a response to either of my emails.
I emailed the day before the first interview slot was due, to check whether I had missed any communication. No response.
I was near my laptop for 12 hours, refreshing emails in case of a last minute message, on both days I had given as interview options. Nothing.
I emailed again after the second day passed stating that I hoped everything was okay, and that I would still very much like to interview, if this could be rescheduled. No response.
I reapplied for the same position, as it was still listed on the AHA website, two weeks later. Received the same invite to interview, pick two dates and return questionaire, which I did.
This time I did receive a response, confirming the interview.
The person interviewing me was 15 minutes late (with no comment, when they did enter the chat) which had me assuming they weren't going to show up, with everything I'd experienced last time.
We had the interview, at the end of which I was told they'd be in touch within a couple of weeks, however to feel free to email with any additional questions or if there was anything I needed to talk about in the mean time.
I, obviously, refrained from making a snarky comment about how no one seems to answer emails in the HR department, but sadly, low and behold, I never heard from them about an offer or a rejection, and after emailing them twice post interview, I gave up.
While it had always been my dream to work for the AHA, the idea of working for an organisation who is this dis-organised and cares this little about their HR has pretty much shattered that dream completely.
