I applied online. I interviewed at American Marketing and Publishing (Cincinnati, OH) in Jul 2023

Interview

Was contacted for a quick phone interview. I was so excited because I have solid advertising background in print and digital. Going in I was concerned about the pay structure, but was happy to know it was salary plus commission. She came off as a very nice person.

Interview Questions

Interview

Very formal, asked to put together a presentation. Ends up being a waste of time because they do not disclose how many candidates they are still interviewing for one position until after you get rejected. Yet during the interview led to believe there are a number of openings. Most job interviews obviously run you around a bit, but seems like they should narrow down their process some more before getting candidates to prepare materials

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Marketing and Publishing (Tampa, FL) in Jun 2023

Interview

First there was a phone interview giving the basic overview and responsibilities. Then there was a zoom meeting where typical job history and work experience questions were asked. Lastly, is a day to shadow an established sales rep. This gives a little in sight to how the day to day tasks go. At the end of the ride day, there is one last phone call to ask how the day went.

Interview

Applied online, soon after I got a text and scheduled a phone screening. After the phone screening, you move onto a zoom interview. Lastly, you sit in for about two hours in person and shadow the job, then followed by a third interview. process was efficient and quick. communication was great. You also do you have to create about a four minute pitch presentation about yourself and the company in the zoom interview.

Interview Questions
  • how do you win an argument? When was the time you felt like a failure? Where do you see yourself in five years? why should you be a part of our team?

Interview Tips

Feel free to post any interview questions you might be asked and I’ll help you compose an effective response :)

Project Coordinator

I have applied for a Graduate Financial Planning Analyst & and I have been invited for an assessment& interview, but when I looked back on the JD I have just noticed that they ask for a 2:1 degree , but I have a 2:2 ( due to some personal issues I had 3rd year) However in my CV the I didn’t mention my grade and during the application process I wasn’t asked. What do I do now? Just let the hiring manager know about directly or mention it during the interview first thing? Whats best solution?

Graduate Student

Hi! Looking for some advice regarding hiring processes. I completed 2 interviews with the company and they emailed to say they "want to put me forward for the job" and asked for references, passport, and for me to do a background check. I didn't hear anything for a week, so then emailed to check on my application status. They responded saying they would get back at the end of that week. Its been 2 weeks since. I emailed last week to ask for an update and have not received a response. Thoughts?

Got booted from my former position about 4 years ago, which I LOVED. I have the impression I was "kept" in sympathy. Now that I have my feet beneath me, I feel like I'm running in place. Over the past 2 years, I've probably applied for about 100 positions in other departments. True, a few were unlikely moonshots, but for the most part I didn't misrepresent myself. Am I the world's worst interviewer? Otherwise.. shouldn't I have been accepted elsewhere, by choice?
