Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Andeavor.

Interview

Applied online and got a reply about 3 - 4 weeks after. My interview was scheduled 5 days from the call. It was a wonderful experience. Behavioral questions were more than technical questions. The person interviewing me showed a lot of interest in trying to know me as a person, and tried to create a 'casual' conversation. Heard back in a week.

    Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Andeavor.

    Interview

I submitted my resume online and was contacted by HR a couple weeks later to set up an interview time. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice and efficient in setting up the interview. Unfortunately this is where my positive experience ended. The man who interviewed me seemed completely disinterested throughout the interview. The questions were relatively simple behavioral questions, but he would interrupt my answers to interject his own opinion. One of these interjections was a rant about how he's overworked and his boss doesn't understand work/life balance. Not exactly what you want to hear about the department you'll be working in. I asked if interns are given any training and he told me they're pretty much thrown into the position and it's sink or swim - another red flag. After the interview I was told I'd hear something in "four to six weeks," so I'm guessing they had no idea when they'd be contacting candidates. After four weeks passed I emailed the woman from HR who originally contacted me and never heard back from her. They completely ghosted me, not even a generic rejection email was sent. After this experience I lost all interest in working here, but some sort of follow through would have been nice. I expected better from a company like Tesoro. By far the most unprofessional interview I have ever had.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Andeavor in November 2017.

    Interview

Applied online, had a phone screening and then one face to face interview. HR did a great job of keeping me updating. It was not a long process except for figuring out what location I would be at.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Andeavor (Salt Lake City, UT) in September 2018.

    Interview

The Interview consisted of behavioral questions asked by two people. One that had been with the company 1 year and the other a senior member. The technical question at the end was somewhat challenging but fairly straight forward if you know what you're doing.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Andeavor (San Antonio, TX) in September 2012.

    Interview

There was a phone interview with your general behavioral questions. Tell me about a time when you....It's a great company to land yourself with. They are looking for determined and successful students. Don't think you are not able to apply because you may not meet a requirement. After there was an in person interview with the recruiter then I personally was interviewed by a manager and employee at the same time. They asked about my leadership and past experiences and why I though I would be a good fit for the position. There are multiple departments that hire interns. Each department is different so be prepared to know the specific position in which you are applying for.

    Interview Questions

    • I was not surprised by any of them. as long as you can study behaviorial type questions. If you are reading this, i hope you do your homework on those types of questions. prepare yourself to answer them in truthful situations that you have faced before weather it was when you were in school or for another employer. Honesty will be your best friend in an interview. Talk about the great aspects you can bring or have accomplished and quantify them. They want to know why you would be a great fit because there a handful of people who want that job!   1 Answer

    Negotiation

interns are at a set rate I belive. There are 401k options as an intern. i believe a 6% match there could be more associated with them. I was locked in a rate of 18/hr as an undergraduate intern.Great money

    Interview

They started out by requesting an additional presentation about 1.5 days before the on-site interviews were to take place. During the on-site interviews, they broke the day up into multiple interviews but two of the interviewers chosed were terrible, rude, mean, and almost attacking in their demeanor. Little to zero follow up
