Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Arbitron (Columbia, MD) in August 2015.

Interview

After I sent in my resume I received a call from the Manager of Arbitron's Encoding Operation's department, and we conducted an over the phone interview. At the end of our conversation he asked me to come in to interview for the position. The interview went very well; this gentleman was very down to earth and I felt comfortable. He made it clear that everyone has a certain amount of work expected of them, and people either are successful or they are not. He said it was nothing personal but he had high hopes for me and didn't think I would have any issues. Lastly I had to interview with his boss before I was offered the job. They offered me $40,000 salary for the year which slightly discouraged me because I had been making $45,000 at my previous employer (Atlantic Video Inc.) which was a production house in the District of Columbia. Arbitron said they could not match a yearly salary of $45,000, but they generously gave me a $2,500 signing bonus. They were formal as was I, but also friendly. Working for that company was one of the best decisions of my life because of how much I learned. I never had an issue with any employee, and I could honestly say that I looked forward to going to work each day because I liked what I did and who I worked with.
