I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Associates in Pediatric Therapy (Nashville, TN) in May 2023
Interview
The hiring manager may reach out through text or phone call and ask what you're looking for as far as hours go. Based on that conversation, he/she/they will then schedule an in-person interview. The interview is pretty standard, and you may get an opportunity to shadow a therapy session afterward. I declined the position because I don't agree with the pay rate or the new hire fee. As a therapist, you're only paid the full rate per BILLABLE hour. I don't know what that rate is. I didn't get that far. If a client cancels on you, then you only get paid $8/hour for documentation and typing reports. I don't agree with this because typing up SOAP notes and evaluation reports still requires advanced skills and clinical judgement that you learn in grad school. I didn't go to grad school to be paid $8/hour. For the new hire fee, their stipulation is that, if you quit your position before a year out from your hire date, you have to pay the company $2,500. This is for part-time or full-time employees. Their rationale for this is that they put a lot of work into you through their mentorship program. I don't agree with this because mentors should be reimbursed through a higher pay rate, not through the new employee. I also don't agree that part-time employees have to pay the same $2,500 that a full-time employer would. If you do the math, a mentor wouldn't be putting quite as much time into a part-time employee.
