I met a recruiter at career fair and was given an on campus interview. I entire interview process was mostly structured and behavioral. I thought I did well and went in asking various questions about the job and mentioned stuff about their stock movements.

Interview

First there was a questionnaire designed to assess understanding of a subject matter. In this case it was related to sustainability. This was followed up with a phone interview. Following the phone interview, there was an in-person interview with two people. The interview process was exclusively behavioral. They wanted to assure skill-set fit. We spoke mostly about details of the specific project oriented work and my credentials that made me a good candidate. They also asked me questions that seemed to test my character, such as whether I was genuine. It was very Midwestern.

It was a very drawn out interview process. First was the phone interview with the HR department, followed by a phone interview with the supervisor for the position and finally an in-person interview. The in-person interview was 3 back to back 45 minute interviews with various groups of people within the organization. Afterward they wanted 5 references to fill out a survey on your experience and work ethic to include your 3 strengths and weaknesses.

Positive experience. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The HR manager was especially nice and agreeable. Very good company and good location which is very easy to get to if you are coming right off of the freeway.

At Avery, it's all about knowing the in-crowd. Questions focus on people and how to manage internal politics. Not many questions regarding technical capabilities or previous experiences. They also seem to prefer people with the industry background as opposed to raw talent.

Lengthy, phone call interview plus two face to face interviews and interview with HR over the phone. Lengthy personality test including a drug test and much paperwork. Interviews were held in rather causal manner.

After I submitted my resume, I followed up with a contact who worked for the company and he pushed the hiring manager to get me an interview. Once the interview was scheduled, I received information via email with details. I interviewed for 2 different APM positions. I interviewed with HR, 2 hiring managers, and a group interview with colleagues. The information shared at the interview was helpful but I also came prepared with questions.

Having examples for questions was the most important reason for why I was hired.
