    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Ayco, a Goldman Sachs Company.

    Interview

The hiring process wasn't that bad. I was offered a position. The pay was decent and the fact that you can put Goldman Sachs on your resume is also good. My impression was they seem to run it like a high end factor for wealth management. The people were very nice and during the interview I talked to multiple people. I wasn't really asked any difficult questions during the process. They really just ask you about why you want to be in financial counseling and what you hope to achieve. If you truly are interested and have demonstrated you can work hard and smart you will probably get a job with Ayco.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Ayco, a Goldman Sachs Company (Saratoga Springs, NY).

    Interview

Had a quick phone call which asked to tell me a bit about myself, when I would be available, and my expected compensation. Then came in for an in-person interview and talked to the Training & Development Director of the division. They asked what I knew about the company, and went over a couple things on my resume. Asked why I chose my college. Next, I talked to an HR person. They asked the typical questions, 3 strengths and weaknesses, adjectives to describe myself. Every typical HR question that you could google and find, they asked--nothing surprising.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

They accepted the salary I had asked for during the initial phone interview.

    Interview

I was contacted by phone after applying online for a financial planner position. The first interview was with HR and lasted about half an hour. It was fairly standard. After that, I got a call from the specific office I was interviewing with, and we set up another phone interview (because I was located some distance from the office itself). I spoke to two people in the office, each interview lasting about half an hour.
