Bach to Rock interview questions

After a lengthy tour, the interviewer sat down with me asked me the same questions that were asked over Indeed messaging, wasting both of our time having me repeat answers. There were very few questions asked that required new information or that weren't found on my resume. Then finally, when asked about my salary expectations, I answered, and was practically scoffed at. I felt as though I'd been taken very seriously up until that point, but the interviewer gave me a lengthy lecture about how ridiculous it would be for me to expect that rate at a studio, when they pay to keep the lights on, do scheduling and billing, etc. I sat professionally through what felt like a mix between mansplaining and a scolding, before informing the interviewer that I was aware of all these things, but with my experience and degrees and living in a high income area, I expect to make more than I did while I was teaching in undergrad. I was offered the job and declined because of the ridiculously low rate, and unprofessionalism from this man. It's one thing to pay your teachers poorly, but to lecture a prospective employee like they don't know what they're talking about, and boast about your rates when they're not comparable to what Target pays high school dropouts, it is entirely another. This company is not worth it.

Initial phone interview to establish prior experience and instruments I would be interested in teaching. The follow-up interview involved visiting the school in person and playing a few pieces from the Bach to Rock curriculum on my primary instrument.
