    Interview

Two and half day on site interview. The first night is dinner with one senior engineer at each table. Any question is welcome. The second day was fully scheduled. A visit to the training center and take a look to some field equipment. Followed with some tasks such as experiments and group project. The third day morning is about the presentation of another group project.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6+ months. I interviewed at Baker Hughes.

    Interview

Initially a phone interview had to be passed, then you progressed to a three day assessment center, this was very intensive and involved various team exercises, presentations and group interview as well as a tour of various sites around Aberdeen. When I did it the first day was a 21 hour day, although I believe they have now changed this for 'health and safety' reasons

    • Some difficult questions were posed at the group interview   Answer Question

    Interview

I did the first of two possible 'interviews'. I wasn't asked any tech specific questions, since my interviewer was not an engineer. It was all behavioral questions, but if you could use any work experience in answering the questions, I'm sure you had a leg up on getting past the first screening. You are notified within 48 hours if you 'passed', which makes you eligible to be invited to the BHE. Just because you passed the first interview DOES NOT guarantee you a trip to Houston for BHE.

    Interview Questions

    • Talk about a situation where there was a conflict with someone you were working with, how you personally handled the situation, what you would do to avoid the same mistake, and what you learned from the situation.   Answer Question

    Interview

I applied online for a field engineer position in Mexico. After that, they made a phone interview (mostly to check my english level). After that, I got invites to a recruitment process in another city, it was a 3 days process held in an hotel. First day, was mainly a dinner to know the people, second day they made us be ready at 6am to go to the base, there were a couple of activities mainly to see if we can handle the job. After that we did a case in the hotel and at 11pm when we were done they gave us a task to present next day al 7am in groups. It was exhausting but i got an offer

    Interview

After a phone interview, you will be asked to attend the "Baker Hughes Experience (BHI)."

This is sort of a second round of interviews where you present to a panel and give a short presentation over themselves.

    Interview Questions

    • In the BHI, they split you into groups and give you a scenario where you have a project to design for and you have 15 minutes I believe and then have to present your solution.   Answer Question

    Declined Offer

    Interview

The BHE was a great experience for anyone interested in pursuing a job in the industry or extreme engineering in general. They gave very detailed information about the different aspects of each division, the designated system for advancement, and were sure not to sugar coat their expectations. There are a variety of events throughout the 3 day affair; best advice is to come prepared and open-minded and really consider everything you see and they tell you.

    Interview Questions

    Reasons for Declining

The pay is great for a starting salary, but you're going to earn every bit.
