I applied online. I interviewed at Better Business Consultants (Edina, MN) in Jul 2017

Interview

The first interview consisted of about a fifteen minute session of basic questions about your experience, and what you think the good qualities of a manager would be. The second interview is longer and takes about an hour, you are taken off-site to learn more about Better Business Consultants and this interview is more informational than anything. After this interview I got a call a couple hours later saying that they would like to hire me. I would listen carefully to the job they are offering you, though the title is Account manager, they are asking you to be a sales representative and go door-to-door selling units of various products and services.

Interview

The interview process consisted of 3 parts which took about a week in total. First round interview is fairly short in which I sat down with the manager for about 15 minutes. The 2nd interview took place in the office and was a bit longer and took about 45 minutes. During the 2nd interview they went over the details of the job and how they do outside sales for clients. The third interview was fairly short with only a couple of questions. Had a positive overall experience with the process because the company kept it very professional and were very straight forward about the position.

Three interviews, first is short, second is long, third is short. Great conversation skills and they seem very engaged. They first interview is standard, the second tells you more about the company, and the third tells you what you will be doing for the company.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Better Business Consultants (Golden Valley, MN) in Jan 2016

Interview

All in person interviews, the first was an initial 10 minute screening, then an hour listening to the spiel about the career path. There was a third round interview which I am assuming is when they make a job offer. I declined the third interview because I was not impressed by not only the pay, but the business model. The pay is contingent upon sales, something that the job description was not clear about.

Interview

1st round brief introduction with the company president. Talk about requirements and company values. 2nd round presentation of company and position duties with one of corporate trainers. 3rd round official wrap up. It seems that BBC is a nice environment, consisted mainly of young people. They do direct marketing, currently for Century Link. But still its door to door sales...

Interview

It was a good interview. The gentlemen (interviewer), he seemed to care about the success of the company and his looking for the right individuals. After the interview, I was invited for the 2nd interview, but after more research about the position; I determined, I was not the person for this organization. I was not planning to go door to door to sell anything.

Interview

I'll preface this by saying I declined the offer of a second interview because I was pretty turned off by the interview process and the role in general... I arrived 15 minutes early and was one of 3 people in the office waiting to be interviewed. When I walked in I was asked to fill out a clipboard with my contact info, past job experiences, and why I was interested in the position. This seemed more like visiting a doctor's office than an interview, and I found it off since I had a copy of my resume with all of that information on it already. The 1st round of the interview only lasted about 15 minutes and it began by the interviewer walking out of a "conference room" with another candidate. He handed the other candidate's clipboard to the office admin, took mine, and called my name. When we went into the room he looked over my answers on the clipboard and then went right into asking me questions. He never looked at my resume which was pretty frustrating to me. In my opinion if a company wants me to take their position seriously then they should take my interview seriously. He asked a few questions, asked about my background, and then asked if I would be interested in a second interview which I declined for a few reasons: 1. The position is a direct to consumer sales position (the title Account Manager is quite deceiving) 2. I have past experience with this sort of role as I have sold Cutco Cutlery for Vector Marketing. That position was while I was in high school. I am now a college grad with 3 years of business experience and was overqualified for this position. 3. I think the most important thing in sales is believing you have a great product. If you don't believe it, you won't do a good job at making others believe it. This position was to sell the CenturyLink Fiber Optic internet service which is the internet that I actually use and I frequently have issues with it. 4. I had a feeling this is the kind of company that brings in as many people as possible and likely has a high turnover rate (there were 4 new people waiting in the office when I left my interview). As I mentioned above I have worked in a similar role before and that is how it was. The company constantly ran trainings and because of the commission-based pay structure, it benefitted them to have as many as possible sales people working. Overall, I think this would be a great job for a student or for someone just out of college with an interest in sales. You'd need to be ready to call contacts and try to set up sales presentations, run your own schedule, and work your butt off to make any real money. These kind of positions do give you good sales experience though if that is what you are interested in and are looking for a stepping stone for your resume.

Interview

I was contacted shortly after submitting my resume by a member of their HR staff. She asked me a couple basic questions and gave me a quick description of the position. I have been getting calls from a lot of similar companies but the overall professionalism and kindness of this company seemed different so I came in for a interview the next day. I met with the hiring manager Don. He got to know me with some questions mostly seeming to find out what kind of goals I have and what I was looking for in a position. He then gave a brief description of the position. He also explained that everyone starts in an entry level role and they are looking for growth minded people who want to advance quick. I was at an entry level position in my career and I had already reviewed their website coming in so not much of a surprise but It was great getting a chance to speak directly with the owner of the company. I asked a couple questions that were important to me (mostly about realistic expectations of pay and advancement) which he answered candidly and honestly. The first interview was about 10 minutes and he let me know they would be calling individuals they were interested in inviting back. I received a phone call later that day and scheduled a time for a second interview. During the second interview I met with a member of their office that was in a leadership role. He explained more about the direction of the company and got into a lot more detail around pay, advancement, and the day to day. I was really impressed with the caliber of all the individuals that worked with the company and was drawn to the training they all seemed to have gotten. I then was called later and offered a position which I accepted. The whole process was very efficient and one of my favorite interviews I had been on as I learned a lot about an industry that I didn't really know anything about previously and met a lot of cool people that were fun to be around!

Interview

In full disclosure I decided not to continue after the first few rounds of the interview process. Very easy interview. Unfortunately it was just not the right fit. It was seemed like a good position for someone looking for a start in sales. However, it is almost indistinguishable from other similar marketing companies. Also, I also.got the feeling that everyone was offered each subsequent step of the interview process.

Interview

This company is professional when it comes to portraying them self to potential employees, however are deceiving in their efforts. They are nothing more than a door to door sales company that is a pyramid scheme to get "promoted" to a higher job. Little qualification is needed. They market themselves as "professional" online and are found with different job descriptions and titles to try and lure naive job seekers in. They also market themselves as "an excellent opportunity for sales". This is the LOWEST form of sales imaginable and won't give any professional experience for someone looking to enter the sales industry. After interviewing I had the impression that the company did commercial sales, but all they do is partner with other companies to push their products in door to door residential sales every day. They were cunning when it came to the interview process by asking witty questions and having a good front, but after getting hired I showed up on the first day of training and I realized how over qualified I was and quit because I discovered the deception associated with my interview. I have nothing against what the company does, but this review is for those who research the company as I did to find out what the job really entails.
