    PAYROLL Associate Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Reston, VA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Billy Casper Golf (Reston, VA).

    Interview

The interview process was very easy just a phone interview, then they will schedule an in person interview. When I was in the office I was given coffee and answered basic customer service questions and was even given a tour of office. This is where things became unprofessional and childish I was told I would hear a decision by next week and its been 2 and a half weeks and nobody is responding. I called the cell # and the office # of the senior payroll manager and even emailed to no avail. I knew I was being ignored and was lost because I was treated with so much hospitality, this was an example of a company putting on a fake image and NEVER will recommend someone to interview. If you don't have the courage to tell a prospective candidate he didn't get the job or even follow on a followup date, then I can't imagine being an employee. Poor ethics from the recruiter and the senior payroll manager.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Billy Casper Golf (Orlando, FL) in January 2015.

    Interview

For this position and course it was straight forward. Superintendent called me in and talked to me about the position and why I wanted to work there. I had 3 years experience so he said it was a no brainer that they'd hire me. Although, if I had zero experience they would have hired me because they hired no experience people while I was there. High turnover, quite desperate. My interview started out ok. But the superintendent used profanity and didn't show much professionalism during the interview. This was the first red flag. I only realized after working for the guy that I wouldn't see much professionalism from him.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Billy Casper Golf (Rockville, MD) in April 2011.

    Interview

They called you in and asked you if you had any experience working in the customer service industry. They then ask you a few questions. Normally they have you interview with another upper level management but sometimes they just do their own thing. For Beverage Cart, you just need to know customer service and golfer's etiquette.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

I did not negotiate anything. They offered a set rate at $8. After a month or so if you are doing well you can ask for more money.

I found out the opening by going to the local golf course. I was then given a hand application, in which I filled out and brought back in the following days. I was informed that I would potentially get a call or email regarding an interview. I then had the interview and it was very comfortable. I was hired on the spot
