      Senior Consultant Interview

      Apr 17, 2009
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      McLean, VA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Booz Allen Hamilton (McLean, VA) in Mar 2009

      Interview

I was initially contacted by a recruiter who had seen my resume on the BAH website and on monster.com. He emailed me and asked if I would be interested in a senior consulting position focusing on business process re-engineer work, change management, or knowledge management. I sent him my reply along with my resume. I was then asked if I could set up a phone interview, which I did for the following day. I interviewed over the phone with the recruiter and was asked indepth questions about my career, experiences, and education. It took about 45 minutes. The next day I was contacted by a second recruiter who performed a follow-up phone interview and then scheduled a date for me to meet in-person with various Booz Allen Hamilton employees. I scheduled my date and and was told about the in-person interview process. I was e-mailed an application to fill out and given a schedule for the interview. When I arrived, about 8 of us were led into a room where the second HR recruiter filled us in on the benefits and structure of the company, and answered any questions we had regarding working for Booz Allen. We also met with a Senior Associate who gave an overview of the Organization & Strategy team, which was the specific team we were interviewing for. We were then led into individual interview rooms where we met individually with various BAH employees who were on the O&S team. One interview focused on consulting experience, one on technical skills and one on overall fit. Once the interviews were over we all reconvened as a group and were led out. They told us to expect phone calls within the next week. About one week later, I received a call stating that I did very well and that they thought I would be a good consultant at Booz Allen, but that the work in the pipeline didn't fit my skills at the moment and to apply again a couple of months. I followed up with a senior associate I interviewed with, and he told me the same thing - that they were impressed with me and my resume, but that the work didn't fill the skills and that things were changing constantly and to apply again in a few months.
