I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Boston Children's Hospital in August 2010.

    Interview

Interview through Webcam, one on one. It was a long 2 hours interview, but nothing too intimidating. Most the questions were very basic, and focused more on behavioral questions. However, I was given couple research papers to read, and wrote my opinions around those papers before the interview. So, do expect technical questions.

Hiring process did not take long. It could be a bit messy due to big organization. However, they seem to prefer US citizen employees over international employees

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Boston Children's Hospital (Boston, MA) in August 2010.

    Interview

The process started with the PI contacting me to arrange 3 reference letters to be sent to him. Afterwards, about 2 weeks later, an interview was scheduled to come into lab to meet him and the other members. The PI and I first talked one on one, mostly to elaborate on my research experiences and my future plans and how it affects the time commitment for the job. Other than that, the interview concentrated a lot on describing the position and its expectations. Afterwards, I was given a tour and individually met other members of the lab.
discuss the job description and his expectations for the position. In the end, it seemed that a huge component of the interview was to determine if the applicant, me, and the position were a good fit for each other. I did not feel like I had to 'prove' my worth or aggressively convince them to hire me. Also, HR was not involved in the interview process at all.
