Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Broker Genius (New York, NY) in May 2016

Interview

I submitted my resume by email on a Thursday and I was contacted by Jason (head of operations) on Monday. He called for a brief phone interview to give me more information and details about Broker Genius so he could decipher if I was interested in what BG does. After explaining what BG does, he asked me general questions about what interests I have and what my plans are for the future. The phone interview went well and he invited me for an in-person interview. He was very flexible in terms of when I could come in to be interviewed. My in-person interview was mainly with Jason and Renee because I was interviewing for a position in operations. They made it known that it was a two-way interview and I was more than welcomed to ask any questions that I had. The questions they asked were more based primarily on my past experience, what skills I had, and why I was interested in the role. After the interview, they gave me a tour of the office so I could meet the teams and they let me sit with sales, pricing and data team to understand what everyone does. Overall, the whole process was smooth. Everyone who I talked to made me feel comfortable and made me want to work there even more. They let me know the next day or so if I got the internship.
