    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CBS Interactive (San Francisco, CA) in September 2016.

    Interview

    - Speedy
    - Great Follow-up from the Recruiters
    - Communication was excellent

Received a call from the recruiter on a Thursday and had the interview the same day Phone screen was standard, so make sure you have your 5-minute intro down and ready to go. Went in for an in-person interview the following week and sat with managers of the department. They asked a few questions but the interview will be lead by you. After the interview, the recruiter will keep you in the loop in regards to the next steps. Communication was generally conducted through E-mails & phones. Overall, I greatly appreciated and enjoyed the entire process.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CBS Interactive (San Francisco, CA) in September 2016.

    Interview

I applied through a University portal and about a month later or so I got a random phone call at 7pm asking if I wanted to do a phone interview the next day. After the phone interview, I was contacted to do an in-person interview. The people who interviewed were the team leaders and they asked the typical questions any interviewer would ask. It was supposed last for at least an hour, but it only went for 30 minutes. But for the most part they were nice and gave me a tour of their facilities.

    Interview Questions

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at CBS Interactive (San Francisco, CA).

    Interview

First interview happened on the phone. Then a week later, an in-person interview commenced. I was interviewed by several people in the team; one after the other; the process took about 2 hours. This was mostly to get a feel of me and my compatibility with the team.

I came in with my laptop, to show my previous projects I've done using several required programs. I then explained to each of them how I went about designing, and building each of my projects. They asked questions and I answered them according to their specialized skill.

Overall, the process and interview was well done; it was extensive, but was rewarding at the end of the day.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CBS Interactive (San Francisco, CA).

    Interview

very easy, asked simple questions about why CBS, simple analytical questions, nothing earth shattering. HR reached out after I applied through LinkedIn. Did a phone screen with the hiring manager, then another phone interview with the department head, and finally an on-site with three people. Senior management did a great job hiding the extremely political nature of the culture.

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at CBS Interactive (San Francisco, CA) in April 2015.

    Interview

I applied for the job online and was contacted by a recruiter a couple of days later thru email where a phone interview was set up with another recruiter. This interview was very basic and more about going over my resume and background.

This led to 3 more interviews with the last one being onsite. All very positive experiences, with friendly interviewers who didn't ask anything weird or out of the ordinary. They were also able to answer questions about the company, how the position impacts CBS, and chances for growth and development.

About a week later, I saw I had a VM, from the recruiter who I had the first interview with, saying that I hadn't been selected and she invited me to call back if I had any questions. I was disappointed as I thought I had made a positive enough impression, but understand things are very competitive. I called back the next day as I hadn't seen the VM until late in the day, hoping to get some feedback, but didn't get an answer. I called again a few hours later, but still no answer. I left a VM, but never heard back from her or anyone else. I thought that was pretty tacky and unprofessional on their part, and it really left a negative impression on what had been a very positive experience to that point.

It was easy, but I knew someone at the company. If you want a job quickly you should network with current employees and have them refer you because they take referrals seriously.
