Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Certify.

Interview

My interview experience is somewhat unique. My initial experience interviewing with Certify consisted of an HR consulting firm partnered with Certify reaching out to me about a recruiting job. I had never heard of Certify, but after doing some research I was immediately excited about the possibility of being part of a forward-thinking and growing Maine company. I had an initial phone screening with the HR consulting firm and then was invited by Certify to take an online assessment. There were two parts to the test- one timed section that focused primarily on data analysis and the second portion asked questions about my personality. I was pleased to discover that I passed! I met with the hiring manager the following week for my first in-person interview and was impressed with her transparency and professionalism. I also noticed how happy all of the employees seemed to be at Certify. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a few employees that were genuinely friendly and wanted to help. I was quickly invited in for a second interview with the hiring manager and CEO. In my interview, we discussed the expectations for the role and opportunities for growth. I also was asked many questions about what I do for fun and how I spent my time outside of work. I felt they wanted to get to know me- not just what I would bring to the table professionally. The CEO was down to earth, engaging and clearly showed an investment in his employees. Unfortunately, the role was offered to a more qualified candidate. However, the hiring manager was very communicative and respectful. She stated that they felt I was a good cultural fit for Certify and that they'd like to stay in touch about future opportunities. We continued to stay in touch and when a new role became available that better aligned with my skills and experience, she referred me for the position. From there, my hiring process was incredibly efficient. I was connected with Certify's recruiter who was friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. I had a phone interview with the sales hiring manager and was brought in a few days later for an in-person interview with the hiring manager and VP of Sales & Marketing. In meeting with them, I knew immediately this position, team, leadership and company culture were a great fit. They must have too- I was offered the position promptly and I am thrilled to be on board at Certify!

Interview Questions

  • Because I was coming from a similar background but hadn't worked specifically in sales, the hiring manager posed questions that asked me to draw parallels between my previous roles and the responsibilities of a sales position at Certify. The questions primarily focused on: customer relationship building, asking open-ended questions that encouraged engagement and closing deals.   Answer Question
