    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Chatham Financial (Kennet Sq, PA) in April 2013.

    Interview

submitted my application online. Got the phone interview from a quant, followed by a skype interview. They asked me to explain my research in layman language (important). I also got a markov chain problem. I was invited back to onsite interview a week later. The working environment there looks casual and friendly. I had a full day interview, meeting with 7-8 people. One important thing during the interview is to get ready to explain your research in very easy language, which I didn't prepare well on that. I think i have confused a few interviewers. Technical questions are typical questions in probability theory, brain teasers, linear algebra, etc. Employees there are fun and friendly. If you have prepared and show your interest, they won't give you a hard time at all.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Chatham Financial (Kennett Square, PA).

    Interview

Spoke with a recruiter for the initial conversation. Then had a one hour interview with the head of the quant team and another quant. This was mainly focused on interest level and details of my career path up until then. We also talked through one brain teaser during this initial phone call. After the initial one hour phone interview they brought me in for an (almost) all day interview. This consisted of 5 or 6, 2 on 1 sessions. We discussed everything from my CV to my career goals and did several brain teasers.

    Interview Questions

    • Nothing was particularly challenging, but I did get several questions about why I was trying to change careers. There were a number of reasons, so this took a while to get through.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

It was easy, I had specified a range of acceptable salaries and they found a way to put me right in the middle of it.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chatham Financial in June 2014.

    Interview

I got response one day after I submitted my resume. One phone interview followed by a sky interview. Not too much question, the process is relax. After that, they promised me to onsite. However, I didn't get any response from HR for one week. Then they scheduled another skype interview to ask me some math background. I am engineering background, so math is not as strong as math PhD. I think that is the reason I was rejected. I think they should consider it before the first interview, otherwise, it is a waste of time for both sides.
