Application
I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Ciena (San Jose, CA).
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter and he set up a phone call with one of the Managers. He asked me a couple of questions on my resume and about my previous work experience.
Then, he scheduled me for 2 interviews. The first interviewer was very friendly. He told me about the role and the technologies they were using; asked me a few questions on multi threading and Java. Gave me a coding question which was quite easy.
The second interviewer was very rude. He asked about one of my projects and gave me a coding question. He would not explain what the question was and when I asked him how the output is theoretically calculated , he would not answer it. He asked me to define my own input in a separate class. Understanding the question, the input and output and he wouldn't even give me the input. All this in 20 mins was an overkill for Software Engineer 1. He was very unprofessional in the way he spoke. When I was finally able to structure my answer, he started typing to check weather I was copying the solution from the internet which I thought was very rude.
I would suggest your interview would depend on your interviewers.
It is a nice company to work for based on other reviews and the work they do is pretty exciting.

Initial Phone Interview- The Account Manager, interviewer, seemed annoyed from the beginning of our conversation. It was a very unpleasant experience. Maybe I caught her at a bad time, but I would not want to report to her on a daily basis.
