Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Coles (Hastings (Australia)).

Interview

I was hired through an employment company in a totally different area to where I actually got the job. The interview was fairy basic. Having been my first job i ever had, I didn't really dress appropriately, I dress in my best clothing but not what you would normally wear to that job. So my best advice is be sure to wear the correct clothing - white shirt is best with black slacks and nice clean black shoes. I was sweating bullets, but you don't need to stress too much.

Interview Questions

  • I was asked many questions, but i think the hardest one was in regards to my goals and aspirations. I think its important to make sure you have a list of these, because then you won't get caught off guard when you are asked something that you may have to think seriously about. They don't want to hire someone that may not want to stay with them for long. So keep that sort of thing under your hat, and you'll be fine.   Answer Question

Negotiation

There was no negotiation in that regard, I was a trainee, so I was on award wage.
