    Marketing Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Compact Management Group (San Diego, CA) in April 2015.

    Interview

The interviewer was a friendly nice looking guy. However, after reading the other reviews of this company regarding the actual job duties, I was pretty reluctant. I passed the first interview and was asked to come back for a second, which I later declined. The "high-end" client they work with is far from it. The position requires a lot of driving and b2b selling.

    Interview

Interview was cake. They look for anyone willing to accept the idea that you can "move up fast" depending on how hard you try. They ask you questions about your drive and willingness to do whatever it takes to move up. They inform you very little about the day to day tasks, but instead focus on whether you want to make a lot of money really fast.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Compact Management Group (San Diego, CA) in July 2015.

    Interview

The interview process was kind of a joke. I waited in the reception along with five potential candidates, My interview was 30 minutes later then the original time set. It consisted of two questions and the person determined I was perfect for a particular campaign. When I asked for details pertaining to the campaign, he stated he didn't know anything about it. I thought to myself, "How am I perfect for this campaign when they can't even tell me what it involves?"

    Interview

While you're searching through job listing online, you come across this very vague post offering full time work. So you apply. They call you and set up a first round interview. If you don't ask the right questions during this time you'll be as left in the dark as I was, leaving asking yourself, "what do they even do here?" If they like you and they think you're a fit for the company you'll get a second interview. That's when you actually find out what it's about.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Compact Management Group in January 2015.

    Interview

Applied for the position online and was called for an interview within the hour. The building was new and still under construction and the only employees in their office building were the secretary and the interviewer Brian who is apparently also the president of the company. The interview lasted about 6 minutes where he explained the way the company works by getting people to start in sales positions with the promise of working their way up to a six figure salary. Only questions he asked me were if I had a car, when I could start, and if I wanted the job. Not the position I applied for at all, I definitely felt like they brought me there under false pretenses. Seems to me like a pyramid scheme, they're just looking for warm bodies to do hard sales at Home Depot. Didn't bother going back for the second interview.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Compact Management Group (San Diego, CA) in June 2015.

    Interview

I applied for this job online along with a few other open positions at this company. I got an email and a phone call the next day say I would be a good fit for the position and asked if Event Coordinating for fortune 500 companies was something that I wanted to do. I said yes, so they scheduled me for an interview at 10:30am the following Monday. Knowing about GlassDoor, I researched this company a little bit and found that the company was a little shady, but I thought, "Hey, I'll just go in and it will be some good practice." Nope! Once I arrived I was greeted by the receptionist, she took my resume and told me they were running a little behind. Little did I know, I would be sitting there for an HOUR! So unprofessional... red flag #1. There were about 6 other people waiting to be interviewed and more arrived as the interviews went on, red flag #2. Once I finally went in for my interview the guy spent more time bragging about his salary than asking me anything important. Don't waste your time people! This is a scam. They tell you that you're going to be interviewed for one position and then try to convince you to sell their product for them.

    Interview Questions

    • Started out asking me how well I do talking to people and gave me the basics of what it would be like to work there. He said, "In order to sell a product we have to go where the people are, and where are people from 9-6 every day? They're at work, so that's where we need to sell." I said, "So basically the job entails that I would be going around, soliciting to people while they're trying to work?" He said, "Well not soliciting, just selling them a good product." (Red flag #3) After this he kept telling me that it wasn't a scam. My thoughts are that if someone has to repeatedly tell you it's not a scam, it's probably a scam. The product they wanted everyone to sell is vegan, gluten-free, edible makeup, supposedly featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine. He also said to that start, everyone has to be in the field and sell, then once you sell for a few weeks, they bring you in on the inside. The deal is that they sell a $200 value of makeup for $20. Which doesn't make any sense because realistically, if you have a product that's worth that much money, but you're only selling for $20, that amounts to the loss of SO much money. Red flag #4. Then he asked if I was interested and how soon could I start. I told him I wasn't sure about any of it and he replied by saying how being skeptical was good and if I wasn't skeptical then he wouldn't want to hire me. But other than asking me if I was good at talking to people, no other REAL interview questions were asked.   Answer Question

    Interview

This was the most bizarre interview I have ever been through. I was called about 2 days after submitting my resume through ZipRecuiter and I knew something was off when they asked if I was applying for a completely different position than the one I actually applied. I arrived at my interview and there were several others having first or second interviews. Everyone was very nice and the office is chic. Once I was called in, I was asked only one question, "Where are you from?" and that is because I have an accent not native to Southern California. The rest of the time, the gentleman interviewing me was talking about how he had made it to his position, and how this was an entry level sales job. What a disappointment. No where in the job announcement was there anything about door-to-door sales and a sales pitch. This was not the job or company for me, so I graciously declined a second interview.

    Interview

Walked in, handed the secretary my resume, waited 5 minutes and began. He kept saying my goal would be to "create awareness" I kept asking for more details but that's all I was able to get. "create awareness." I was to get more details on the position during a second working interview day which I declined after realizing it was probably just door to door sales.
