I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Constant Contact.

Interview

I was referred by a current employee, which may have fast-tracked the process on the front end. I spoke with an HR person who immediately scheduled an appointment with the hiring manager. After that, I spoke with A LOT of people, 4 phone interviews and 6-8 in person at the headquarters.

Interview Questions

  • The questions related back to the job description. Most were situational, as in "Tell me about a time when you ..." All were about relationship building, managing people, and my experience with small business and non-profits.   Answer Question

Negotiation

After a day of interviews, the HR person and I sat to discuss salary. They started low and worked up to where I wanted. When the offer came, it was actually better than what I'd asked for.
