I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Deloitte (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2008
Interview
1st round - one case and one behavioral interview; on campus through career services at my school
2nd round - 2 case interviews and two behavioral interviews, on location in the office that I ended up accepting an offer from.
The first round case was "command and control" and was also very open ended. It was not similar to the cases given by BCG, McKinsey, Booz, etc.. If you are coming from a school where Deloitte recruits, definitely talk to alums or seniors who interviewed there.
The second round cases were much more similar to the cases that I was given by other firms.
My ultimate impression was that Deloitte cared more about fit with the firm than case performance compared to other firms (although case interview performance was definitely important!).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Your client is a children's hospital that is experiencing declining revenues. Why? What would you tell the CEO?
HR round, followed by few technical round (With manager, senior manager and partners) and lastly on speaking and listening skills (online). The interview as such is very job oriented, they are not difficult if we have good knowledge of the field and the role
The interview might have had more rounds as well, but i only got the opportunity to sit in 2 round. The first round was a guesstimate round basic and fairly easy as well and next round was a case study. which was a bit difficult for me
3 steps, 1 hr call, 2 technical interview to access the position the process was quite smooth as long as you are being considered. The hr was really nice especially when asked about composition and future possibilities
