    Estee Lauder Beauty Advisor Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Phoenix, AZ

    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Dillard's (Phoenix, AZ) in February 2016.

    Interview

I intervied with the Business Manager of the counter, Marketing Manager, Department Manager, Account Executive and the Assistant Store Manager seperately. Seems excessive but each interview was easily in my opinion. Just show that you are passionate about delivering excellent customer service. Also, give detailed examples(what happened and what were the results)...be as specific as possible. Make sure you're upbeat and you'll do just fine.

    Interview

The assistant manager interviewed me and after that he told me to come in the next day to see the manager. The manager was rude rude rude. And said no to my face after she asked a couple of questions. She was intimidating and rude. It was the worst experience ever

    Reasons for Declining

I'm not gonna be a slave and deal with rude management for 12 bucks an hour. I can do better than that. That's why I'm trying to finish my degree and forget retail. Retail jobs are the worst. Worst experience ever

    Interview

Very detailed about past performance. Give specific examples of how you did this. Very numbers driven so be prepared to share sales success. They want aggressive people who give blunt coaching. Warm and fuzzy doesn't fit with the culture. I found it a bit mean at times

    Management Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Phoenix, AZ

    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dillard's (Phoenix, AZ) in June 2012.

    Interview

I was contacted over the phone and asked to come in for an interview. Upon arriving at the store, I was asked to fill out a Dillard's online application which consisted of work history, references and a personality test. That took about 30 minutes. After that, I had a 1:1 interview with the Assistant Store Manager which went so well, she asked me to stay and meet with her Store manager immediately. The Store Manager was more intense and she asked about my personal and career goals. After the interviews, she asked me to submit to a background check. I got a call from her by the end of the week asking me to meet with the district manager. The district manager asked a few scenario questions, "tell me of a time..." questions but I felt the interview at this point was more of an observation of my personality and demeanor. An offer was made on the spot and the salary was finally revealed.

    Reasons for Declining

The hours were typical for retail and the position was ok. The pay was a little less than I felt I was worth and the benefits were downright poor. Overall, I already had other opportunities that I was pursuing and had seen better opportunities in the past.
