    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 7+ weeks. I interviewed at EY (Gurgaon, Haryana (India)) in May 2017.

    Interview

The whole process from CV shortlisting to final selection took 52 days and process included 1.) CV Shortlisting 2.) Aptitude test 3.) Hr Round 4.) Technical First 5.) Technical Second (Partner Round). I received job offer 53rd day. I applied through campus placement. I had only 60% aggregate marks in graduation, but still my CV got shortlisted due to my extra curricular activities and part time work experience. So, it clearly implies less marks are not a barrier. In HR round recruiter checked the level of confidence, positivism, attitude towards other, weakness. In first technical recruiter checked my knowledge of accounting standards, understanding of client driven work and my behavior towards senior. In second technical, it was more like hr and less like technical, partner asked me why I want to work in NCR and why not in Panipat (my home town) and ask me how you have handled client facing in my part time work experience. Why do accounting world interest me. After 8 days of partner round Hr called me and told me that I have been shortlisted and I have joining on XYZ day and date

    Senior Consultant Interview

    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at EY (Gurgaon, Haryana (India)).

    Interview

5 rounds. All case study based, except the HR round. Case studies at EY are not like the ones at Mckinsey or Bain. The interviewer in most cases will not offer you too many details about the case, nor would he expect you to dive in to find out details. S/he would only be interested in knowing how you would approach it.

    Interview Questions

    • They gave me a hypothetical business cases and asked how would I approach finding a resolution. Every round had a different case. E.g., your client is in the telecom sector and wants to expand in a new geography - if you're the engagement manager, how would you approach this engagement?   2 Answers

    Negotiation

If they have invested time in interviewing you and you're reasonably confident about your interview then negotiate (within reasonable limits) - they will most likely oblige

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at EY (Gurgaon, Haryana (India)) in December 2016.

    Interview

I had a very bad experience with the EY. I was called for discussion regarding openings in Risk Assurance(ITRA) team. I had my both tech as well as HR interview on the same day and was given assurance of my selection by both of them. I also had my salary discussion with HR and even the goal setting for the year was also done with the manager. I was informed that i would be receiving my offer letter in next 2-3 weeks. I even received the mail asking for my salary details stating that "as a part of hiring process, we would like to move ahead with your candidature. please provide us the following docs.....blah..blah....blah..."

As i was very confident of my selection, i resigned from my current company. I have already been released from my current company a month ago and i am currently without any job. It has been more than 2 months now and i have still not received my offer letter from EY.

I have tried to reach HR several times over phone & mail but all in vain. They are not answering to my calls & mails.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked me questions related to my job roles & projects in my current company. Also asked about scrum fundamentals & agile methodology. And some general questions like why do you want to join EY.   1 Answer
