Engaged in a very friendly 1 on 2 interview that assessed my background and skills from previous employment. The atmosphere was great and the interview was truly genuine, leaving me happy with the opportunity by the end of the interview.

I was interviewing at my university coop day. i had done hours of research on the company and prepared answers to STAR questions, The interviewer was an older gentleman and when the interview started he asked if I wanted to know some history about Eastman. I could recite the history of Eastman but said yes out of politeness. BIG MISTAKE. The guy rambles on about Eastman and all their product lines since 1960. After 15 minutes I prompt him to ask me questions, we run out of time, in the last 5 minutes of the interview we are flying through STAR questions. What really irritates me is that I know both of the 2 students who got the position that semester. They had fewer credit hours, lower GPAs, and comparable extra curriculars. The only reason I can think for them getting the job over me is that I absolutely shanked the Interview.
